Since free apps can now offer In-App Purchases, Ngmoco has announced that their first person shooter “Eliminate” will be free.
According to Ngmoco “Eliminate” will carry In-App Purchases for energy. Every player gets a certain amount of energy, but once it’s depleted you can either wait till that energy is recharged, or buy new energy via In-App Purchase. Only with energy you can earn credits, so if you don’t care about credits you just play the game without earning new credits.
Those credits can be used for equipment upgrades and leveling up. With the game being free, Ngmoco made a smart move. The amount of potential customers grows and you no longer have to worry about the issue of having a large enough user base for multiplayer online gaming. The game has been submitted to Apple and will be available in the App Store soon.
