The EU will stop sales of the iPhone if a new research shows that the cause of the incidents of exploding iPhones is a technical issue. Meglena Kuneva, commissioner of Consumer Affairs, said that.
There have been several reports from England, France and Germany, about exploding iPhones as a result of overheating. Apple thinks these are isolated incidents and says the devices were used improperly.
Several independent investigations take place in several European countries, to find the cause of these spontaneous explosions. If the results of the investigations show that the device is a danger for the consumer, the EU has the right to stop the sales of the iPhone.
