applelogoOke, the Apple Media Event is over and I must say I was a little disappointed. Ofcourse there were things that we expected but it seemed the keynote was over before we new it. Still…Apple introduced some nice new stuff.

iTunes 9 – As expected Apple released iTunes 9. And there are some pretty exciting new things added to the popular music program. It’s easier to find apps in the App Store. You can manage your apps on your iPhone or iPod touch via iTunes. And there are ringtones you can buy for $1,29 each. iTunes 9 can be downloaded here.

Games – Several developers stepped on the stage to talk about their products. A couple of beautiful games were shown by Ubisoft, Tapulous, EA Games and Gameloft. A new Assassin’s Creed game, Riddim Ribbon, Madden 2010, and Nova are the games that were shown. Pretty exciting. And Madden 2010 is available today for $7,99 [App Store]. The price goes to $9,99 tomorrow.

Firmware 3.1 – Available today and free for everyone with an iPhone. Seems you have to pay $4,95 when you’re an iPod touch user. One of the new features is called Genius Mixes and acts like a personal DJ. You can now also buy movies, tv shows and audibooks via Wi-Fi. To see a complete list of the new features, take a look here. Download it through iTunes or via the Apple website.

iPods – The biggest news was about the iPods ofcourse. The iPod classic, nano, shuffle and touch all got updates. The nano now has a camera and the touch has more storage room and has OpenGL. There have been price drops as well. iPod touch starts at $199 for the 8 GB model. The other models have a storage room of 32 GB and 64 GB. For a better overview of the changes of the iPods, take a look here.

That’s about it. No new Apple TV’s, no Mac Tablet (unfortunately) and no camera for the iPod touch.

I think you only have to pay for the 3.1 upgrade if you’re upgrading from from 2.X firmwares (maybe). I have an iPod touch with the 3.0 firmware and upgraded for free
