DigiTimes reports that the new iPod Touch, iPod nano and iPod classic will get a 3,2 megapixel camera. Apple has a contract with OmniVision and the new devices will probably be shown at the September 9th media event.
OmniVision has secured CMOS image sensor (CIS) orders for upcoming Apple iPods, according to market sources.
OmniVision will be the sole supplier of 3.2-megapixel CIS products for new iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod Touch models which will be launched in September, the sources indicated.
There have been rumors before, about the iPod touch getting a camera, but it seems to be confirmed now for the first time. The same goes for the iPod nano.
