123054-exploded-iphoneApple is going to investigate incidents of the exploding iPhones in Europe, Reuters reports. Apple believes that those incidents were isolated incidents and there’s they don’t think there’s a general problem, a spokesman of the European Commission says. Apple is working on gathering more information to find out what may have caused the explosions.

The last few weeks have been full of reports about exploding and burning iPods and iPhones. One incident involved a French teenager, who received an eye injury when the screen of the iPhone in his hands shattered, sending pieces of glass into his eye. Another incident involved an 11-year old girl. Her iPod Touch exploded in the garden of her home.

A spokesperson for Apple Europe Ltd says:

“We are aware of these (media) reports and we are waiting to receive the iPhones from the customers. Until we have the full details, we don’t have anything further to add.”
