iphone-china-talks-260x375Apple can get some problem with sales of the iPhone in China. There’s already a company in China who owns the tradingmark i-phone. Therefore it could be difficult for Apple to launch a phone with practically the same name. Apple is still in negotiations with China Unicom to discuss weather the iPhone will be available for the Chinese market or not.

A law office in Beijing that is specialized in intellectual property, has pointed put that it’s possibly illegal if Apple brings out their iPhone under their own name. Apple owns the tradingmark iPhone since late 2002, but that tradingmark refers only to hardware and software, not mobile phones. Two years later, the Chinese company Hanwang Technology, registered the name i-phone for mobile phones. A spokesman of the Chinese company said they are not in negotionations with Apple to talk about the rights on that name. Hanwang also doesn’t want to say what they are going to do if Apple does plan to sell the iPhone in China.
