On TouchArcade is a preview of the upcoming iPhone game “Rogue Planet”. The game comes from the French development group Agharta Studio.
“Rogue Planet is a turn based strategy game that consists of 15 campaign missions, as well as 15 additional maps for free play and multiplayer. In the initial release, multiplayer will be limited to local WiFi, but with 3.0 right around the corner, Bluetooth local multiplayer as well as asynchronous online multiplayer with push notifications will be available as a free update.”
The game uses very detailed 2D sprites on a 3D background. There are 2 factions with 10 different units each to wage war with. You can destroy bridges with your tanks and other units or repair them with an engineer. You can also capture buildings, but you have to destroy the buidling first. While capturing it the unit you capture it with will be consumed in the process.
Rogue Planet can be controled with the familiar multitouch controls and the view can also be rotated. The video below shows the gameplay of the game. Notice how fast it loads. The game will be submitted to the App Store in two weeks if all goes well.

Ok they’re last “game” was fun at first. We all have been waiting for them to update 1112, but now it apeares that they never will. I’m not trusting this group.
