T-Mobile.nl posted a page of the iPhone 3GS with some specifications. Apple already said this new iPhone is all about speed. Better processor, more memory and better graphics performance. Not there are some details about what kind of processor and how much memory is present in the new iPhone.
The newest iPhone 3GS has 256 MB of memory and a 600 MHz processor onboard. This is significantly faster then the previous iPhone who has a 412 MHz processor and 128 MB of memory. The dubbeled memory is a welcome upgrade for developers who can now develope better applications.
Even the iPod Touch is now slower than the new iPhone. The second edition of the iPod Touch was faster then the iPhone 3G with a 532 MHz processor. It was the fastest device so far when it comes to the iPod and iPhone line.
Games can also be more graphical. The new iPhone uses the new PowerVR SGX graphics processing unit which provides support for OpenGL ES 2.0.
Below is a comparison between the new iPhone 3GS and the previous iPhone 3G. It is weird that the Voice Control option is not available for the previous iPhone. Sounds to me like a software issue. I also am a little dissapointed about the look of the new iPhone 3GS. It is just the same as the previous iPhone. I expected at least a minor change in the casing of the new iPhone.
What do you think about the new iPhone 3GS?
