
Yesterday at the keynote address given by Phil Schiller, the first thing he talked about was their Apple MacBook line. Alle MacBooks are now upgraded with better a battery, more memory, bigger harddisk, and a SD-card slot. The 13″ MacBook has now been added to the Pro family. All prices are dropped as well. Especially the Macbook Air, which got a $700 dollar drop. The Macbooks just got more affordable.
The 13″ and 15″ MacBooks got a big hardware upgrade. Below are the configurations plus the according prices.
- 13″ MacBook Pro, 2.26GHz, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400, 160GB HD, Firewire, at $1199
- 13″ MacBook Pro, 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400, 250GB HD, Firewire, at $1499
- 15″ MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 250GB HD. Firewire, at $1699
- 15″ MacBook Pro, 2.66 GHz, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT, 320GB HD, Firewire, at $1999
- 15″ MacBook Pro, 2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT,  500 GB HD, Firewire, at $2299
The price starts at $1199 which is $100 dollar lower than the previous entry-level. All models now include backlit keyboard, a SD-card slot and firwire port.

The MacBook Air also had some hardware upgrades. But the biggest difference is the price.
- 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 120GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, at $1499
- 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 128GB solid state drive, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, at $1799
The 1.86 GHz model represents a $300 price drop and the 2.13 GHz model represents an amazing $700 price drop.
The 17″ model had some minor upgrades. The entry-level dropped to $2499, representing a $300 price drop. The 17″ MacBook now offers a 2.8 GHz processor and a 500 GB harddrive.
All models are now available.
