The format of the current iPhone screen is not a standard. A standard screen size could be 16:9. Rumor goes that the next iPhone will have a bigger screen. A standard size this time at 16:9.

The picture below shows a photo of the current (right) and possible next iPhone (left). The next iPhone seems to be a little longer. It has the standard screen size of 16:9. Because of the bigger screen the ear speaker has moved a little upward. Earlier rumors told us about the iPhone casing where it showed the ear speaker to be a little higher placed.

But then again, making the screen bigger could be a problem, because all the iPhone apps are based on the current screen size. We only have to wait one more day and then we will know the facts.

One Response to “Bigger iPhone Screen?”

  1. Y3k-Bug Says:

Making the screen bigger wouldn’t be a problem, it would be one of the biggest gaffe’s Apple could possible make with the iphone.

As a developer, the beauty of the phone is that my app will work on the original, the 3G model, as well as the new one. To make a bigger screen means I now have to create 2 versions of my app, which adds quite a big headache to the development process of already developed applications.

The development of apps will be strained slightly already by the fact that the new iphone will have beefier system specs, so if i want to take advantage of its better CPU and more RAM, I’ll have to leave the older phones in the dust to do so. But thats a much more natural problem.

New iphone will not have a bigger screen.
