Hydrotilt just got a major update. It’s now called Hydrotilt XL and has several interesting new features.
Now you can play an additional 30 new levels, but the most interesting feature is Custom Levels.
You can now make your own levels with the Level Editor, you can play them and you can search for custom maps from other players. This sure is a huge update.
The 30 new levels are level packs that you can download in the Custom Levels section. Just click on Get Levels and you get a screen with a display of all level packs available for download. The creators of this game added three level packs with 10 levels each.
The Level Editor has a lot of options. You click on editor, select a level and you get a screen with a top view of the level you are going to create. On the right side you have options like Select, Move, Rotate, Erase and Undo. On the left side you have a broad variety of selectable components which you can place on the map to create paths and puzzles.
It works very smoothly, and I only tested it on the first edition of the iPod Touch. So Publisher X sure did a very good job with this amazing update. The game is now complete. I mean what more can you ask for. There is nothing that can be added. It’s now up to the players of this game to create as many level packs they can.
If you don’t have Hydrotilt yet you can try the free Lite version. Or you might want to consider spending $5 for the full version. Hydrotilt was already a very good game, but with the update it’s become even better.
