When Apple had given us sneak-peak of upcoming OS 3.0 Beta, we all had ichy-hands to upgrade and test the Beta. But unfortunately we need to register a Dev account with Apple to activate 3.0
But Now you can bypass the uuid registration…
(We have not yet tested this, please try it on your own risk)
For Windows Users(Vista or 7)…
1.Click on start
2.type in “Search programs and files” firewall.
3.Try to find windows firewall with Advanced Security if you are in windows 7 otherwise try to get on the advanced settings of windows firewall.
4.Create a new outgoing rule that blocks iTunes.exe from using the internet.
5.Enjoy
This will just stop iTunes from accessing the internet which prevents it from checking if ur UDID is on the Developer List.
For Mac Users..
1. Disconnect the internet once you plug in ur phone…

Any one try on a Windows yet?
Another way to avoid thus is by pressing the “X” when you first plug in your ipod or iphone
(the x is located in the upper right hand corner in itunes, when it says accessing itunes store)
hopefully this helps or makes sence(:
Mac Users can also download Little Snitch http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html
And when iTunes pops up for permission to reach the internet, just press deny.
Nope, still the same problem, its staying in Emergency Mode only and doesn’t let me do anything…
BTW I tested that method a long time ago… I didn’t fall into April’s Fool Joke…

just unplug ur internet connection
But how will you activate the phone and/or ipod ;)
Activation isn’t needed for an iPod.

You can activate 3g with 3.0beta2.
Here is my proof.

Only works for iPod Touch as it does not require activation.
However, iPhone always requires activation via internet and blocking its access to the internet will simply leave it unactivated and only usable for emergency calls.
I can confirm that Salim Abdulwasea method works. ;)
i found the guys over at [spam link] on facebook and they hooked e up in no time
