jotnot-scan JotNot for the iPhone is a standalone application that allows you to use your iPhone as a document digitizer. You can use JotNot to process your images of whiteboards, receipts, and notes, making them easier to read, print, and share with others.

JotNot will save your original picture and an enhanced version into your photo library. All the processing occurs on your iPhone itself so sensitive or confidential information never leaves your control.

Using JotNot is easy. Just follow these five simple steps:
1) Take a picture of a receipt, whiteboard, document, or note; or alternatively select one from your photo library.
2) Drag the corners of the blue rectangle aligning them with the corners of your document; the blue area will be saved.
3) Click “Process” to enhance the image.
4) You will be shown a preview of the enhanced image. Click “Save” if you are happy with the resulting enhanced image. Click the trash can to delete the enhanced image.
5) The original image will be added to your photo library. If you clicked “Save”, an enhanced version will also be saved to your photo library.

The current release supports the following features:
* Processes images on the phone (completely standalone)
* Automatically adjusts image contrast and color balance
* Corrects perspective keystoning
* Saves just the region you want
* Processes existing photos or takes new ones

Price: $3.99 – 2,99€

Would NOT recommend, if anything it makes the quality even worse.

I’m sorry to hear that the app didn’t work as you expected. If you are having trouble using the app please let us know, we want to make it as useful as possible!

I have two tips for users of JotNot to get the best results possible:
      1. Make sure that the camera is able to focus on the text you are trying to take a picture of (Not too close, not too far away)
      2. Try to fill as much of the screen with the document or whiteboard as you can while still including the four corners.

We’re also doing a survey on our blog at http://blog.jotnot.net/ where you can suggest what features you would like to see in future releases. We’re really interested in knowing what would make this app better for users.
