screenshot_additional_3GoodReader is a new application developed by Goodiware.Good Reader is more than just another viewer of files. It has some cool features not found in other viewer applications. Want a license? Leave a comment!

FILE FORMATS
After you’ve transferred your files to your iPhone / iPod touch you can easily view files of the following formats:
  • very large PDF files. Very fast opening. Unlike some other viewers, Good Reader doesn’t cache an entire file into memory, therefore the file size is not the limit. Files of over 250Mb size with more than 7000 pages were tested.
  • password-protected PDF files. Protect your data by creating password-protected PDFs – they will be opened only with correct password.
  • very large plain text (.TXT) files. Very fast opening. All text encodings used by iPhone (including Unicode) are supported. Files of over 10Mb size (more than 4500 pages) were tested. No zooming or left/right scrolling required – text lines are wrapped to screen size using the font name and size of your choice.
  • all file formats supported by Safari engine: Microsoft Office files – Word, Excel, PowerPoint (with limited support of Office 2007 XML files), HTML files and Safari webarchives.
  • Apple iWork’08 files – Pages, Numbers, Keynote (only limited support, iWork’08 files must be compressed to individual ZIP archives).
  • high-resolution pictures and other graphic files. Customizable slideshow viewing mode is supported. Previous and Next buttons for manual picture selecting while viewing.
  • audio files (formats supported by iPhone Operating System)
  • video files (formats supported by iPhone Operating System)
YOUR MOBILE STORAGE DEVICE
Need a WiFi flash storage card inside your iPhone / iPod touch? Good Reader is a perfect solution for you. Its WebDAV file-server allows you to easily transfer ANY files (not just the ones intended for mobile viewing) between your iPhone / iPod touch and your WiFi-enabled desktop PC or Mac. Use your iPhone / iPod touch just like you use your USB flash cards. All major operating systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X, Linux) are supported without any need of additional software.
LANDSCAPE VS. PORTRAIT
Don’t you think that sudden screen autorotations are a little annoying when you’re reading a long text? We think so. That’s why we’ve intentionally disabled an autorotation feature when you’re reading. But you always can rotate your screen manually with a dedicated button.
OTHER FEATURES:
  • GoTo PDF Page feature instantly takes you directly to a particular page in a large PDF file
  • Navigation Slider instantly takes you to any place in a large TXT file
  • previously viewed file is automatically reopened at startup
  • Good Reader remembers exactly where you’ve been in all previously viewed files and takes you there when you reopen those files (this feature is applicable only to PDF and TXT files)
  • Good Reader remembers your last screen orientation and starts up in that orientation

Price: 4.99$, 3.99€

Looks awesome. I read scientific papers on my iPhone (or try to) and have to break them up into parts all the time because of the size.

so, has anyone tried it? does it work as promised? I came here to see whether people report success before coughing up five bucks. Especially seein that Appstore has a comment saying it crashes. If it does open large pdfs and does have a search function, it will be well worth the money. But I won’t pay for it before I hear people say it works :)

I really like the idea that I wouldn’t have to convert all my magazines to read them on iphone. By the way Readdle is not so good for reading pdf magazines on iphone it preloads all the page in memory ehili GoodReader loads only viewed page. Looking forward for a license ;)

I just bought the GoodReader, after trying the others. If you use a PC, make sure you have Safari to use when transferring files thru a web browser. I uploaded a 20.4 mb file (a RPG daming document) and it took about 6 minutes to upload. I tried the network folder option and couldn’t get it to take.

It is the best viewer in my opinion by far, but I have only had it a few hours.

I have been using it for two months to read scientific papers, and it works very well. It zooms in to make text large enough to read without losing crispness. The developers also provide very good email support.

I’m just posting a recommendation: I think Good Reader is well worth the $5. It handles files larger than 60MB, and if there is a problem with your file you can send it to the developer and they will investigate and get back. They’ve done that for my files.

                                                                                                                                          http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=306277111&mt=8
It’s on sale for $.99. It has text reflow around iPhone’s screen, text search, USB file transfer, full-screen reading, large file support… and great email support by developers. Try it.
                                                                                                                                          Good luck!

This application would be the solution!

I have already gotten the app but can’t use it. Thank you very much
