I think part of the problem is that Apple doesn't allow you to do that. You can have a "Lite version" but you can't have one with disabled anything. As a developer I am worried about all this. If you are asking for a mealy 99¢ for something you have slaved over you shouldn't really have to worry about these things. The more expensive apps need a way to show their stuff. I would love Apple to allow for "Demo" versions of apps. Maybe that would prevent some of the pirating. But I have to say, I think people who pirate apps would have bought hem in the first place. They are collectors of all things free and just collect to collect. That is the game. So am I worried about my apps? A bit. But I don't see a way to change anything until Apple does.

Yeah I agree with Wesley, one reason why people download crack apps is because they don't want to pay for something and then end up not liking it. If developers were able to create a free trial version that would automatically stop working or delete after so much time it would increase buyer confidence. I think in general the app store really needs an overall update.

That's a nice behaviour, Apple should build some kind of way that you try the application for a limited time before buying it, like 7 days. I just had US$ 4,99 wasted on an application that didn't quite what I was expecting, so it should be a nice thing.
