9to5Mac’s launched the rumor that Sony BMG will soon become the second major label to get on board with Apple by offering their music catalog in iTunes Plus format.

iTunes Plus, is Apple’s name for higher quality (256kbit) DRM-free (Digital rights management) tracks offered through its store. Apple started the service back in May 2007 by selling iTunes Plus tracks from EMI. If this rumor pans out, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group would remain as the only major record labels not selling DRM-free music.
