Blogger Florian Schimanke published new screenshots from the iPhone 2.2 firmware who reveal that the iTunes Store is getting 2 new functions: over-the-air downloads for both video and audio podcasts.

We know that Apple was working on downloading podcast, but in the previous releases the function was still not available. According to Florian the podcast downloads will be limited to episodes less than 10MB in size when using the cellular network. Unfortunately Apple still didn’t gave an official indication on when we can expect a public release of firmware 2.2

As you can see from the screenshots a new icon “Podcast” has been added.
