Cydia – SBSettings
SBSettings is a BossPrefs replacement available in Cydia via the BigBoss source. It is a simple app and it doesn’t add an icon to the springboard. All you have to do is swipe the status bar and a box will slide down the screen with info about your iPhone and also thing in which you want to toggle. More info and screenshots inside.
When you swipe the status bar and the box appears you can toggle things like
- 3G (if you have and iPhone 3G)
- Bluetooth
- EDGE
- Phone
- SSH
- Wi-Fi
You can also respring and power off. The box that appears also shows information like your iPhone’s name, WiFi IP Address, Data IP Address and HDD Free space.
You can edit the toggles available by tapping ‘More’ and then tapping ‘View Toggles’. Once in here all you have to do is move the switches to on or off. Then press the home button and it will respring and then the next time you swipe the status bar the new toggles will be there. If you have more than 4 turned on they will go onto a new row.
You can also hide icons using SBSettings. All you have to do is swipe the status bar, tap more, tap hide icons and then you just flick the switches. There are also Extras avaiable like in BossPrefs. Just swipe, tap more, tap Extras and then you have the option to:
- Fix User Dir Permissions
- Enable/Disable Numeric Battery
- Enable/Disable Apple App Killswitch
You can access the toggles while running other app just by swiping the status bar and it will appear not affecting the app you are running. To close SBSettings just tap the ‘x’ in the top left.
I really like this app and it can only get better!

great app!! only thing that blows is I have the modified version of the host app to block ads and it won’t allow me to load the “more” settings. anyone find a fix for this?

Open the modified hosts file and delete the very top line that says http://admob.com. It will still block all other ads, but leave AdMob ads alone.

Cool app, unfortunately it turned my 2G a bit less responsive and increased battery consumption a whole lot. Uninstalled and all the issues ceased.

With the new version, I cannot access SBSettings from “lock screen”. I’d like to see that capability put back in please.

Jailbreaking the ipod touch seems pretty damn useless.
I jailbroke it, it lagged (yes, it was done correctly, 2.2.1), I had to restore my ipod, jailbroke again, it lagged and froze non-stop. Cydia is horrendously designed as well, there is no status bar when you install it. It’s a useless POS application.

Seems like you’re having issues and blaming everyone but yourself.
I’ve been using Cydia on my jailbroken 3G for a while, and I have plenty of experience installing/uninstalling/re-jailbreaking/etc. Never once run into an issue that wasn’t my own damn fault.
Next time try looking for the source of the problem instead of blaming everyone else.

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your web site. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility problems? A number of my blog visitors have complained about my blog not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari. Do you have any recommendations to help fix this problem?
