StatusNotifier has been out in Cydia for quite some time now, and a post was even made on iPhonefreakz when it was first released; however, it now has many more features that puts it ahead of all of the rest, including Notifier in the BigBoss source and even Intelliscreen’s taskbar notification features. They all fail in comparison to how StatusNotifier has progressed. It now is almost a free alternative to Intelliscreen’s notification service. It even has lock screen icons! Read more for full details.

StatusNotifier has many features that include notification support for:

  • Unread Email
  • Missed call/voicemail
  • Calendar alerts
  • SMS: MobileSMS / iRealSMS / biteSMS
  • MMS: SwirlyMMS
  • IM: BeejiveIM / Fring / Palringo
  • RSS: NetNewsWire
  • Reminder (vibration/sound)
  • Customizable options
  • Silent mode (ringer off)

It also now has real-time updates in the status bar, no daemons, and no more weird dependencies.

  • Let me explain a bit on the “Customizable options.” When you install StatusNotifier, an app will be installed that can control which notifications you want to appear, and also if you would like sound or vibrating notifications if you’ve gone a while without checking your SMS, email, IM, etc. Â

Â Also, this mod is very handy if you have Backgrounder installed and you put your IM app in the background. You will get notifications in the taskbar and a reminder if you get an IM while you’re out of the app.Â
    Â

  • Also, it has lock screen icons, sort of like Intelliscreen, that tell you what you have not checked. Â
But, if you want a more Intelliscreen looking theme for the lockscreen icons, I found one on an Xsellize forum.   Â

To use this theme, you will first need Winterboard and StatusNotifier installed. Download the theme here. Unzip the file, and drag the folder named “homescreen-status.theme” to your desktop. Using SSH or USB, navigate to /Library/Themes and put the “homescreen-status.theme” in it. Then enable the theme in Winterboard. There are also other modifications of this theme here, but you will need to sign up on Xsellize to access the links to download them. If you download them, just use the same method with them to get them into Winterboard.Â

If you have any questions, feel free to comment.

They come with StatusNotifier. They only show up when you have things that are not checked.

As it says in the post, use Backgrounder.

I know backgrounder, but i don’t like the fact that all my apps would have to be killed in order to quit.

Really awesome app. I like it a lot, especially with fring in the background.

But when I have my iPhone loading in my dock, Status Notifier won’t remind me of missed calls, because the phone is somehow in standby mode. How can I prevent this?

                    cheer

Anyone have the large icons on the lock screen working at the same time as the “LockCalendar” app? Would really love to have both working but LockCalendar seems to override statusnotifier.
