Facebook promised to release a new version of its popular iPhone app by the end of September. Well they kept their word, in this latest version the facebook developers have completed changed the user interface, did some bug fixes and most important they added a lot of new functionalities which are available in the standard version of Facebook.
Some key features that are now available:
- Facebook Chat (working much better now)
- Address book lookup
- New, easier to use interface, including notifications and the full news feed
- Write and post on friends walls and view their full profiles
- Photo tags (holding your finger down on the photo will show them)
- People search, friend requests and your full inbox/inbox search
- Photo uploading is faster
- You can now upload photos from your library stored on the iPhone
This is probably the version that a lot of people were expecting at launch for Facebook’s iPhone app and many were disappointed by the few features that V1 was offering, so this update should do well to satisfy most of the facebook users.

It has a huuuge bug. People who are waiting for your authorisation to be added to your friend list can be fully explored (even you can’t view their profiles from pc you can from iphone). and the biggest bug is if you tag someone from one of those peoples photos, facebook will alert the persone tagged and will not give your name but the photo owners name as the tagger…

this new facebook app is amazing, i now really like this app.
1.x was pretty lame, but finally… an app that actually feels like facebook, :)
