App Store - ScriBall from Howling Moon iPhone Developer Made $250K From App Store In Two Months
Sep 24

SGN (social gaming network) mailed us with the news of a new free iPhone application been released in the Apple App Store. The app in question is called iGolf and it has some very neat features. iGolf simulates a driving range experience, players swing with their iPhones as they would do with a real club, then look to the screen to see their shot sail over a driving range, ultimately revealing the distance of the drive. Players literally improve their golf swing, anytime and anywhere and by saving their high scores they can challenge friends to out-drive them.

iGolf, is an envelope-pushing application, the iPhone’s accelerometer detects the mechanics of a golf swing to determine the quality and distance of each drive.  At the bottom of a swing, the phone vibrates and replicates the familiar “thwack” sound of a golf ball being struck!

A cool side-note of this app is the fact that is has risen to the number 1 spot of free app’s in the App Store in just a day.

    its not accurate
the ball will only go straight (if only that was the case in real life)
and 9 out of 10 times it will hit the ball on your backswing.

Lots of people have been reporting various “accidents” after swinging though. LOL iPhone needs a Wii strap.
