Apple has released Remote 1.1, in this latest version you can create Genius playlists, create and edit playlist in iTunes directly from the application. Remote works with your Wi-Fi network and allows you to control the music on your computer or Apple TV from your iPhone or iPod touch around your home.
Remote 1.1 is available as a free download from the App Store for all iPhone and iPod touch users running software 2.0 or later.

Does this work on windows?
According to some reports, it does. I couldn’t get it to work and I’m using xp.

I had problems with the first version on my xp, but it works now that I updated the app and itunes.
the main broblem with remote application is that it’s too slow to load up.
by the time it loads up I already went up to the computer and playing halfway through the music
Version 1.1 has also moved the speaker control menu.
It is no longer in the settings screen.
To access speakers you now tap the now playing screen which will bring up the song progress bar, genius etc at the top and access to speaker control at the bottom of the screen will appear.
