As predicted Apple showed us iTunes 8.0 at the ‘let’s rock’ event. Most of us already knew that, as the infomation was leaked already. The new imortant features are Genius Playlists, Grid view and the HD shows. I’ll go into more detail after the break.
Genius Playlists
Genius playlist go through your music library then analyze the structure and sound and it creates playlists based upon previous information. Another cool function is that it recommends music that you might like from the iTunes store. It uses both an algorithm to learn what you like as well as data from other iTunes users. What’s very positive about this new service is the fact that all information is uploaded anonymously to the servers of Apple.
Grid View
There’s also a new grid view that lets you sort through your tunes and videos by cover art, letting you play right from the grid.
HD Shows
You can now get TV shows in HD from the iTunes store.
