iPhone can handle 1080P video

From Gizmodo, one of their “friends in the industry” says that they have seen the iPhone playing 1080P quite a few times with no problems. This is of course overkill for the iPhone’s screen, so why did you need to know this? keep reading.
Remember those HD TV shows coming from iTunes 8Â we told you about the other day that we are likely to see September 9th? This is where it could come in handy. This means that the iPhone could indeed play HD TV shows with no conversion needed- although some iPods (such as the classic and nano) could not support 1080P which could cause a problem for apple.

Now if the component cables for the ipod allowed output of 1080p then we’d be talking.. Portable HDTV player.. yes please!!!
