As we all know Apple will be holding another one of their special events on September 9th. Expected to be released along with the new iPod nano’s and the new iPod touch, is the release of iTunes 8. The first reports of the new features in iTunes 8 came from Kevin Rose, who also was the first to tell us we would see new iPod nano’s and new iPod touch’s in September, so we can expect these rumors to be true.
He described the release of iTunes 8 as a “big update” with new features. There is expected to be a new music recommendation feature, or “genius playlist” inside iTunes 8, which would suggest songs from the iTunes music store based on the type of songs within your playlists. There will also be a new visualizer described as “planet like objects wrapping around each other with stars/light streams”.
It is also said that you will be able to browse your artists and albums visually with grid view, download your favorite TV shows in HD quality, and also allow you to sync with your 4th generation iPod nano, and 2nd generation iPod touch.

actually they are excpected to release the ipod touch firmware 2.1 september 9th and the iphone 2.1 shortly after.
As far as back up speeds just disable and it works perfect or else wait for ever and a day!

You will never be able to drag and drop media to your iPhone ever. Apple just doesn’t work that way. It’s been like that since iPod Ver.1.0, lol. Now hard disc access for file storage? That’s a possibility, as it’s been requested a lot.
