The guys over at InstallerApps claim they have a leaked version of installer 4. You can download it from here, here, here, here, here, or here. the installation requires SSH and command line to work but it is still in rough beta. Read on for a guide on how to install it.
first you must download the file from the given link to your desktop and unzip it if needed. after this has been done log on to your iphone using an SSH client (winSCP works) (login using iphone’s IP address- to find it go to WiFi and select WiFi network and click the blue arrow- and password: alpine). now once logged in, in the left hand pane navigate to /Users/username/desktop. then in the right hand pane navigate to /Applications. in the left hand pane find the file you just downloaded from the internet and drag it to the right into /Applications. once it is inside /Applications make sure it is still named installer.app (make sure it is not copied into another directory inside /Applications. you could simply navigate to / and then copy into /Applications from there).
now we have Installer.app in /Applications but we are not finished. next we must open up a terminal (such as putty) and connect to your iphone once again. now inside the terminal type “chmod -R 777 /Applications/Installer.app” without the quotation marks. then type “chmod a+srx /Applications/Installer.app/Installer” (thanks emma) once again without the quotations. now restart your iphone and your done! this is still very much in beta and only comes with 4 packages (not worth downloading) and 1 source (rip-dev) so continue at your own risk. right now i still prefer cydia.
update: if you have had problems with these three links and found another please email it to me at jbdude101@gmail.com so that i can post it here for others.

Pfff… why do you publish this? You don’t need it.. when you need it contact rip dev, you can do nothing with installer 4.0…
can you guys upload it to sendfile, or megashare because non of the links can start downloading.
ill get some more links.
well this doesnt do jack for ppl lookin for packages however it most certainly lets ppl create and test repos. Good thing since ripdev was being selective
well dude, I tried those links, I need other links. sorry about that
no problem, i am looking for more links but there isnt much out there becuase (surprisingly) this news hasnt spread to fast. if you google it you may have more luck than me but i doubt it.
I think 6 links are enough. Anyway you don’t need Installer 4.0 if you don’t have a Repo to test.
well some are very eager to get installer for various reasons (repo testing, curiousity, instersted, showing off) and i am trying to make sure theyre pleased
thanks mediafire works like a charm :D
your welcome
thanks guys for publishing it. for some reason when i put it on, the SMS and Settings icons are no longer on the screen? No idea why but i certainly didn’t delete anything.
What can I do to get ‘em back?
Thanks in advance.
ummm…. if you SSH into your iphone are they there?
I tried installing Installer 4 on iphone with firmware 1.1.4..
It’s not working..
1. Does installer 4 works only on iphone 2 ( Iphone 3g)?
2. or Does it require on Iphone 2 software..
Let me know. on raajss[at]yahoo.com
