As with each firmware update, firmware 2.0 has bugs. But unfortunately, firmware 2.0 has an abnormal amount of bugs that greatly diminish the iPhone’s performance. Here’s a list of 10 bugs that many of us would love for Apple to fix in the 2.1 firmware update.

1.) The random reboots. This get so annoying! Especially when you’re in the middle of an SSH session.

2.) App Store and application crashes. This also gets very annoying.

3.) Application installation problems. Many times, an application I attempt to download from the App Store fails to install the first time, and has to try many more times to finally get it installed correctly.

4.) Slow typing in the SMS app.

5.) Buginess when moving applications around on the springboard.

6.) Clearing Safari history in Settings.app does not clear Google/Yahoo! search history. You have to clear the history in the bookmarks to do this.

7.) Total unresponsiveness inside an app. This happens to me alot, and I have to hard restart the phone!

8.) Slow boot time. Most of the time, it takes forever for my iPhone to start up!

9.) Sound randomly shuts off. I have this happen sometimes, and I have to do a springboard restart to fix it.

10.) 3G interferes with GPS and reception. I don’t have the iPhone 3G yet, but have heard that the GPS is very inaccurate sometimes if 3G is enabled.

Also, we would like an iTunes update that gives us the choice to enable or disable iPhone backups, since they are dreadfully slow. But there are ways to do this now with a little effort. For Mac, go here, and for Windows, go here.

So there they are. If I missed some, post them in the comments below.

    Yeah here’s my “bug list”

    Instability #1
Crappy GPS/LBS – sometimes it puts me in CA, sometimes in LA. Sometimes in OR (which is right)
    Slow boot time
    Slow sync time
EXTREMELY slow backup time (shouldn’t it be a differential backup?)
Battery life is a bit disappointing
AT&T’s disappointing – my 3g isn’t that good, my EDGE is obviously EDGE… my Sprint 3g is amazing in the same area… :P

WTF IS WRONG WITH STEVE JOBS, EFFING RETARD. YOURE PHONE SUCKS AND YET I PUT UP WITH THIS S H I T. GET MMS AND VIDEO FEATURES JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER GOD DAMN PHONE HAS AND FIX THE DAMN BUGS. MORON.

I dont know about the MMS but with the current Iphone camera video will be VERY choppy as can be seen from the 3rd part video recorders we already have seen in 1.1.4. Still Apple should allow this type of app in the app store for those who want it. 15fps isn’t as good as a lot of other phones but its better than nothing.

The lack of MMS support has made a few people I know return their iphones for another phone. Some people just make phone calls and send video/picture messages all day. These same people thought the iPhone could do that since just about EVERY other phone on the market can. Once they found out differently they didn’t care about the other features. They complained they could no longer get their funny MMS’s from their friends and returned the phones.

Id add incompatiblity issues with firewire based car chargers/devices. Aka: This Accessory is not made to work with the iphone. Its really irritating to own a car (Scion XD) that has an ipod/iphone certified Radio which cant charge due to apples decision to forgo Firewire support and not notify or address the issues to companies that certfy thier products with apple and the get that little label that says “made for ipod/iphone” Yeah seriously id add this one to the list cause apple screwed over a couple hundred people or more who now cant charge thier iphone on devices that should be compatible
