Pwning is the process of breaking the signature signing of iPhone/iPod Touch firmwares. Normally, an iPhone/iPod is only allowed to run firmware from Apple. Pwning the device allows you to create a custom firmware and load it in with no problem. This firmware can be jailbroken, activated, unlocked, or loaded with applications before it ever makes it onto your phone. This allows for a much safer jailbreak/activate/unlock process.

:mrgreen: That’s great news! How will the process go? Do I need to upgrade to the official 2.0 on iTunes 7.7 first, then run pwnage tool 2.0?…Or can I just run the pwnage tool 2.0 straight from the 1.1.4 Ziphone firmware? Can someone shine some light?
