According to The BoyGeniusReport firmare 2.0.1 is aleady being tested by Apple and AT&T since before the launch of the iPhone 3G. They claim this by a screenshot of their logs, where they show off the following references (It appears that AT&T and Apple are testing iPhone device software version 2.0.1, builds 5B101 (iPhone) and 5B103 (iPhone 3G).)
I do check my logs on a regular basis but i still haven’t found any reference to this new version. Call it bluff or is it real? I’ll keep checking my logs from now on :)

Good, Im glad because 2.0 is a glitchy ass update. my phone constantly reboots and freezes. i was better off when i jailbroke my 1.1.4!!! hopefully apple will get their $hit straight!!!

I´m from Austria and I´m a proud User of the Iphone 3G, but Visuell Voicebox doesn´t work so I called the Service Center and they told me that they have an Information from Apple that an Update will arrive and my Visuell Voicebox will work.
So maybe thats the Update ?!
i think apple should give a helping hand to jailbreak the firmware only then will all problems be resolved because they are the ones that made the phone thats why there is problems like firmware 2.0 crashing and jailbreak app release delays. they should have made the installer free for customisation like every other phone because we paid hard cash for the phone and the app store should not be scrutinised to who passes the test but should have been left open for all to put their apps and the sdk should have run on windows platform and not only on mac
