According to the online edition of businessweek, the App Store will have more then 4000 games and apps at launch. Most of these will be free. However i do see some problems here. What about diskspace? As we currently know that the iPhone has about 50 MB free on the OS partition, where are they going to install these apps? In the media partition, together with your music and videos?
We will have to wait just a few more days to find it all out :)

most probably, with 2.0 firmware, purchased AppStore items will be stored in the media partition, or im pretty sure it wont use the OS partition
I’d say that’s pretty apparent. Youre not going to download a hundred apps and be able to keep them on the OS partition.
Yeah! Or may be they can have a separate Applications partition for it…
Let’s see an iTunes update featuring the newest tab - Apps!
thats why im shooting for the 16gb… so that i dont run out of room for apps ;)
well 4000 developer program acceptees- 4000 apps- 1 app per developer- SOUNDS KINDA LOGICAL TO ME! i thought of this the first minute i heard apple announce 4000 acceptences at WWDC. geez….
Anyone know how apps will be prioritized? Will it be based on popularity, ratings, similar to YouTube, etc.?
