Goldstriker has announced the 24 carat gold iPhone 3G. They said that they have started to work on ideas for this model and are set to release these versions from mid- July starting from £399 for the 8gb gold edition and up to £999 for the 24ct gold and diamond edition. The Apple logo behind will house 53 brilliant cut bright white diamonds totaling 0,36 carat in weight.

Anyway both of these editions will still have the new plastic rear shell but Goldstrikers cheif designer Stuart Hughes and rest of the team are already underway in having these rears metalformed to then be adourmed with precious metals.
