Some new reports are coming in that the latest iPhone 3G firmware will support FM Radio and FOTA (firmware over the air downloads). FM radio does not mean that the iPhone 3G will have a FM receiver but it will probably support Apple’s ‘iPod Radio Remote’ and probably some other third-paryt FM Tuners.
Our first Gen iPhone and iPod touch don’t support these for now. Another discovery that was made is the FOTA funtionality. FOTA (Firmware over the air) support could indicate that Apple will be able to remotely upgrade firmwares or even re-lock your device.

Please define “re-lock your device”.
they wont do FOTA. trust me. if they do, 1000 $ says zibri or the dev team will be able to disable it
I’d say re-lock is the opposite of un-lock.
As a result, Apple would have the ability to lock back unlocked iPhones.
again a feature that will be disabled by hackers if necessary :D
I dont think FM Radio would be there. Bec. Jobs would have announced at WWDC 08.
Apple cant add surprise features !
can you install an fm application thenin the 3G phone, with installer or something like that?
grts
The iPod Radio Remote works with firmware 2.1!!! I am using the 3G iPhone with jailbroken 2.1. As usual the popup appears “Not a supported device.” But the volume, fast forward, pause, skip all work!!! In past versions only the volume worked.
I do not know if jailbroken matters. Also I have the Pocket Touch application installed. Not sure if that matters either.
But others should try and see if it works for them.
@ henry
how can you listen to fm radio with an iphone 3G ?
greets
Sorry did not mean to misrepresent. The radio part still does not work… but the other functions of the iPod radio remote do work, e.g., playing, pausing, skipping songs.
what tool or software i have to download for FM in 3g iphone?
