Apple Design Awards (the iPhone appstore winners) iPhone repository updates.
Jun 14

Mariner Software announced that they will bring a native iPhone excell editing solution to the AppStore. We already learned that the new firmware will be able to view iWork and MS office documents, but apple didn’t mention anything about being able to edit them. Mariner software’s president, Michael Wray informed MacWorld that his Mariner Calc sofware is 80 to 90% complete and should be ready by the time the appstore opens.

Some other impressive information regarding the app is that the app will be able to view and edit Excel files in their native format without needed to convert! The cocoatouch application will supposedly be able to support up to 1.000.000 rows and 32.000 columns in size, and to top this of. The app will support multiple sheets per document also. Even charts and objects will be supported. No price has been announced just yet.

That’s really awesome. Sometimes it just makes too much sense to use Excel for more complex calculations while on the go. Calculators alone can’t always do the job.
