How handy would it be to check the current scores and statistics while you are at work, in the pub or any other place where you can’t watch your favorite match? Scorespro.com found the solution, an application that keeps track of your favorite match(es) and even notifies you when an important event takes place.iScores, already at version 1.5, supports 7 sports all over the world. Soccer, Tennis, Baseball, Ice Hockey, Basketball, Football (NFL) and Formula 1.
The application has a minimum update interval of 30 seconds, which for me is an acceptable delay when trying to stay up to date with matches. A great example for today: Formula 1 took place in Montreal at the same time a match of the Euro2008. Turn on the TV and keep your iphone or ipod touch by your side to track both the match and the race at the same time.
The application has options for pop-ups, vibrations and sound notifications. It has a simple but easy-to-use GUI, sorted by the sport types. After selecting your favorite leagues for the selected sport, it gathers information and takes you to a live-update screen with scores and statistics. Ofcourse it requires an internet connection to stay up to date. Tapping double on the statistics gives you the option to tip-a-friend, this is done by importing the information to the email client on your device. But I don’t think I will often email any scores to my friends, because if they can receive the mail, they will probably also have a way to acces the live scores. Summed up this application is definitely a great addition to my ipod/iPhone and I can recommend it to all the other sports fans out there.
