Gold iPhone anyone ? Sketches 07b4

I gave you some information regarding the ScanLife app. See my previous post.
It appears that the ScanLife version won’t be out for some time, but i did find another version that is in our installer.
The app is called iMatrix and it works fantastically, better then the ScanLife app.
iMatrix is a project from a Lithuanian developer and it can already read 2D codes encoded as QR code, Datamatrix, ShotCode and Aztec. EZcode and Beetagg are still in the development phase.
The iMatrix app can automatically open web links, add contacts, add calendar event, add new notes and initiative new e-mail or phone calls !
Â

1) Go to the iMatrix and register here.
2) Let’s find this app and play a little with it.

3) Start the app and go to the preferences and add your newly created account.

4) Let’s look at the preferences in this screen.Â

- User account let’s you manage your user account.Â

- Confirmations (disable these if you like the app to automatically open url’s, create contacts, create events, create notes, send mail)

- 2D code types( enable or disable QR, DATAMATRIX, SHOTCODE) Aztec, EZcode and BeeTagg are still in development.

Â

5) Let’s capture something. (I’ve created a test image that will open iPhonefreakz.com in your Mobile safari).

6) you can Create your own tag’s to play with here, be sure to select the QR codes as the datamatrix didn’t always work for me :)

7) A lot of other examples can be found on the developers website.

8) Once you have captured some codes, they will be in your ‘my codes’ tab for later retrieval. Fox ex a concert ticket that you captured. It’s no longer needed to keep dragging all those papers with you :)

9) The export option is magnificent. It allows you to export your contacts and bookmarks. The developer is going to add Notes and Calendar soon.

Â

So that’s a quick view of the app. Do you like it? I know I’m going to use this a lot.

Â
This little app is available in the Installer.app through the STE packaging source, see our sources page.

Enjoy

A public release of the NeoReader iPhone application is anticipated soon.

Based off the award winning Lavasphere technology developed in Germany by Gavitec, the NeoReader features NeoMedia’s patented resolution technology combined with Gavitec’s ultra-small footprint and platform independent algorithms. It is able to read and decipher all common non-proprietary 2D codes (Data Matrix, QR, Aztec) as well as URL embedded 2D codes and all 1D UPC/EAN/Code 128 open source codes. The NeoReader supports direct and indirect code linking, which guarantees maximum interoperability with already existing platforms like 2D Data Matrix Semacodes, and Japanese QR links. This allows the user to click on a variety of codes with a single application installed on their mobile device.
