SynchStep is a cool new little app.
The app plays songs from your music library that match your walking pace.
Every step you take lands in-time with a drum hit, a bass pluck or a piano chord.
So the next time you’d like to walk around like John Travolta with some Bee Gees music, use SynchStep :)
To get this all working will take some steps to go through.
1) Let’s first get the app installed, locate it in your installer.
2) Before you can use SynchStep you will need to tag your iTunes library with a BPM utility.
SynchStep uses this BPM information to be able to sync your steps with the music.
The application the developer recommends is BeaTunes. BeaTunes is a paying software but you can trial use it for some time.
After you have installed beatunes, start it up and select your playlist that you’d like to have tagged.
3) Use these settings.
4) After you have tagged your music library, just re-sync it with your iPhone or iPod Touchn and start SynchStep.
This little app is available in the Installer.app through the ModMyIfone packaging source, see our sources page.
Enjoy
5) Now put your iPhone or iPod touch close to your leg and start walking or running.
The app will detect your approx steps and will play music accordingly. The app works nicely with you standard iPhone functions, so when you’ll receive a call, the app will go silent and play your Ringtone.
You can find some more information on the developer’s website.
