Cmw released an update to his WinPwn beta.
It’s now possible to upload firmware 2.0 with winpwn.
The official notes from the developer are:
This release is not disabled in anyway. I no longer use QEMU and You will see some new features and will notice that it takes < 60 seconds to build and IPSW (at least on my machine). I have had reports that it has issues with Ipod 2.0225C but other then that it should work perfectly. If you find a bug please email me ( cmw@toc2rta.com ). This was built as a Debug bin and no code obfuscation was used. I will release full sources after we finish more beta tests
I would also like to note that this release would not be possible without the work of Squpix and Planetbeing who have helped develop and test winpwn.

Is there any installer for 2.0 and also can it be used with Activesync?

Sorry but no installer available yet. This is due to the framework that has been rewritten.

I have a brand new otb 1.1.3. Can I use winpwn as described in the tutorial, or do I have to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.4 first before i pwn the iphone?

You do need to upgrade first to version 1.1.4 before you can properly pwn your device. Check out the tutorial on the right
Thanks for your reply. Still confused on one issue. Your tutorial doesn’t mention what firmware the phone must have prior to pwning the phone. Do you have to start with an iphone running 1.1.4? Thanks for any clarification you can give me. I’ve searched other sites, but can’t find the answer.

No Winpwn is not actually a jailbreaking tool. WinPWn let’s you run your own custom firmware onto the iPhone

Hi, i installed itunes 7.7 and upgrade my Iphone to the latest firmware version and then it blocked, and i can’t use it anymore(only emergence calls)…i tried all the apps on the web(winpwn, Ziphone) and nothing working, they all crashed while rebooting the iphone on recovery mode… Can you help me please?

you will have to wait untill the dev-team releases their pwnage tool 2.0 before you will be able to use firmware 2.0 .. you can always go back to 1.1.4 and re-unlock it via iliberty of Pwnagetool
my ipod keeps on freezing everytime i use a firmware made by this winpwn version.
it just freezes on the apple screen- although the firmwares from the other version work perfectly. do you know what i can do?

i got winpwn 2.5 BETA and shouldn’t it get the new firmwares automatically?
it says me all the time: “Could not find iPhone*****_Restore.ipsw! Do you want to search for the file?”
Is that just still a problem because it is in the beta stadium?
And i still have to download the firmwares by myself?
